Two For Tea

I walk by Antika on Greenwood on a regular basis. I always look in the window at their cute vintage bar furniture and dream of one day having just the right place to put such a piece. (We're pretty much at capacity for furniture at the moment - except that we could still use a headboard for the bed in the extra bedroom. All in good time.) I also enjoy looking at the adorable kitchen wares they often showcase in the window - like breadboxes, sugar/flour canisters and whimsical salt and pepper shakers.

Prior to this past Thursday, I had never actually gone inside Antika. However, when I saw this tea set with the strawberry motif in the window, I knew it would be the perfect gift for my Mom.

Mother's Day is a ways off, but I hate shopping for gifts at the last minute, so I decided to snap it up and save it for May.

So I went inside and bought the whole set and chatted briefly with the owner. I asked her if people bring in items to sell or how they get their inventory. She said that they go on buying trips to New York and England periodically throughout the year, and that the tea set was from England. I thought that was pretty cool.

The store is chock full of different items, so I plan to go back and explore some more on another day.

Hopefully, my Mom will be up for a cuppa when she opens her gift!
