Naked City Taphouse

Aaron and I went to Naked City Taphouse on Sunday for dinner and a drink. They have happy hour all day on Sundays, so Aaron's Chuckanut Export Stout was a dollar off. I had Spire pear cider (in a bottle) but it was regular price because only drafts are on special. Food is also regular price.

I had the German Bratwurst (no kraut for me) with mustard on a hard roll. I also had turkey vegetable soup.

Aaron had the Organic Tomato and roasted cheese sandwich with Tim's cascade potato chips.

We shared a soft pretzel with cheese sauce. (We scarfed it down before I could get a picture.) They have table service now, which is really nice. I am too lazy to get up and go to the bar.

And how is the food? I really liked the turkey vegetable soup and would order it again. The bratwurst wasn't what I was expecting. I used to live in Germany, so I thought it would be a Weisswurst on a small roll with strong yellow mustard. But, Naked City's version is a PNW version, which some people might really like, but it wasn't what I had in mind. So I wouldn't order it again.

But Aaron's roasted cheese sandwich was awesome! It had lots of good melty cheese, fresh basil and tomato. If I ordered it, I would hold the tomato. His chips were good, too. The pretzel was a bit too salty, but I did like the cheese dipping sauce.

It was a pleasant experience and we even got a window seat. It's so nice to be able to walk to some decent restaurants. Naked City is a great place to go in the afternoon for a bite. Now that I know what to order, I'll be a happy camper next time we stop by.
