Citroen Man

My Dad is having his Citroen 2CV shipped over from Europe and it will arrive in the next week or so. He asked me if I could remember the shop that we took it to, oh, about 8 years ago. And what was the guy's name? I remembered his name was Chris and I said I could probably find the shop, but that I didn't remember the address or anything. He asked if I would be up for driving over there this past Saturday. Sure, why not? And so we went on a field trip.

I asked Aaron if he wanted to come and he said, "Wait, all you know is there's some guy named Chris somewhere near the Ballard Bridge that used to fix Citroens about eight years ago?" Yep. Aron decided he didn't want to join us on our little adventure.

I knew the shop was located somewhere off Dravus. We zoomed over and after turning onto Dravus, I said to turn right onto 16th or 17th. We went down 17th, turned over onto 16th and whammo! My Dad said, "I think that's the building!" So we stopped and got out to look around.

The only sign we could see said "Cam Grinders", but they weren't open.

When my Dad saw this old Citroen parked out front, he knew we were getting warmer.

Next, we walked down the street to another shop and asked the mechanic there if he knew any Citroen mechanics in the neighborhood. He said he didn't. Rats.

So, we walked back to take a few pictures, and all of a sudden, a guy drove up, parked out front and headed toward the door of Cam Grinders. My Dad asked him if he could help us out. The guy said, "Oh, yeah, I know Chris. He's not here right now, but if you want to leave your contact information, I can give it to him." Jackpot!

After that success, we went around to the other side of the building and saw a couple Peugots and a nice Citroen DS wagon.

I love the tail lights!

So, hopefully, Chris the Citroen fixer will call my Dad and it will all work out. Aaron was quite shocked that we had any luck at all!

*Update* - Chris called my Dad and they made arrangements to get the Citroen all tuned up and ready to go as soon as it arrives. Mission accomplished.
