I bought some individual faux lashes for Halloween. They are Andrea brand from Walgreen's and they were pretty cheap. (I'm talking four bucks cheap.)
I figured they'd be uncomfortable and fake looking, just like the full faux lashes. I was only part wrong. They looked a bit fake because I put on about seven little clumps of faux lash on each eye. The surprising part, though, was that they weren't really that irritating to wear. They were so normal feeling that I kind of forgot about them, actually.
Intrigued with this new beauty endeavor, I decided to try them out again for daytime wear. Today, I only put on four or five faux lash bunches on each eye. I layered them with mascara and added eyeliner to blend it all in. Then, deciding they were a bit longer than my real lashes, I cut them. While I was wearing them. I know, it's stupid, but much like cutting my own bangs, I couldn't help myself. (Thankfully, I didn't cut any real lash. Thank God.)
Both Aaron and my Mom said that they looked a bit artificial, but not totally awful. I think I'll try them one more time with two individual lashes on each eye. I think that might be more understated, but would still add fullness and a bit of glamour, without looking like a Blythe doll. (Not that Blythe isn't cute, but she is made of plastic, after all.) Perhaps evening lighting might help, too. And a few drinks. And some candlelight. And maybe hanging out with people that have really poor eyesight. Which is a tough combo to orchestrate, but I'm up to the challenge.
