Their sign says "Opening Soon" and their website says that they will be opening on October 22nd! Aaron and I have been looking in the windows and it looks like all they need is taps for the bar. It looks like it will be a nice, laid back place to have a beer.The other bar that is set to open soon is the Gainsbourg Lounge. It will be in the space previously inhabited by the Northside Grill, which I thought about checking out, but then never did.
Gainsbourg Lounge's Myspace page says, "About me: Impeccable fucking cocktails and French-inspired bar food, coming to the Phinney-Greenwood neighborhood in the fall of 2008." And there are tons of pictures of Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin. (Maybe they'll decorate the bar with Birkin bags?)
I see from this article from the Weekly, that Hannah Levin and JJ Wandler are co-owners of Gainsbourg Lounge and are planning to open in November.We walked by last night and saw JJ working away on the walls. I am excited to see how this place turns out!
So, we have two bar options to look forward to. Now if someone would just buy the Crosswalk and either re-vamp it or close it down, we'd be set.
