As I've mentioned before, the Goodwill has different colored tags. I think it might have to do with the date that the item arrives, because all the tags have dates.
The only time I ever really pay attention to the colors, is to see which ones are on sale. However, last time I was at the Goodwill, I noticed that they had new racks in the front of the store by the purses (this is at the Lynnwood store - I haven't been to the Ballard one for a while.) After investigating the racks, I saw that they were all name brands - mall store brands like Banana Republic, Anne Taylor and brands I've seen at Nordstrom, like Halogen. Hmmm. Instead of calling this new tag a color, they're calling it "Glitter Textile". WTF?
Aside from the fact that the word "glitter" reminds me of Mariah Carey, I also noticed that the prices were higher on the glitter items. Hmph. But, it was nice to have the better clothes separated from the crap originally from WalMart, because it was quite a time saver not to have to sift through 80 million hangers.
With this new development in the tag color/title structure, I had to come up with a new strategy. I plan to still look at the regular racks, but I'll definitely hit the glitter section first, then the purses/shoes and then the regular racks of clothes. It's important to conserve energy when thrift shopping and if I run out of steam, passing over the 99 cent t-shirt rack won't be the end of the world.
The fourth of July is coming up, so I bet they'll have a sale that day. Maybe "Glitter Textile" items will be on sale! (It doesn't take much to excite me. It's true.)

Have you been to the new Shoreline Goodwill? That place totally rocks. Far superior to the Ballard store. It also has the Glitter boutique area, which I like. I get completely overwhelmed with the regular stuff all mashed together.
I've never been to the Shoreline Goodwill - I'll have to check it out! :-) I usually go to the Lynnwood one and have found good stuff there. I think it definitely helps to go outside of Seattle where it's less picked over.
