Tiptoe (through the tulips)

Aaron and I went up to Mt. Vernon with K and M a couple weeks ago to see the tulips. Thankfully, we picked a day that was not snowing, so we ended up with pretty sunny weather. We made our first stop at the Skagit River Brewery for lunch.

We were all very impressed with the food and the service. I had an excellent cheeseburger and a side salad. The salad was so fresh and yummy, that I didn't even use my dressing. Amazing.

After lunch, we zipped off to find some tulips. What we found was an assload of traffic and finally, after a bit of maneuvering, we found a lovely daffodil field.

After loading back into the van, we got on the right road to the tulips - it was the Tulip Route that we were looking for.

We went to Tulip Town (seriously, that's what it's called) and ponied up to the fields for some beautiful shots of the tulips.

My favorite were these pink ones with the pointy petals. (How's that for alliteration?)

Aaron even managed to catch me unawares and not hamming it up for the camera.

It was a great day!
