Books That Aren't Books

I was putting a bunch of books on hold at the library the other day, when I stumbled upon the upon the option to check out a digital book. I didn't really know what I was doing, but I put David Sedaris' book, "Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim" on hold and went about my merry way.

A few days later, I got an email that said that my e-book was available for download. So, I followed the directions to download the book and presto! I had a copy of the book in Adobe right on my computer. It's pretty sweet. I mean, I like regular books better, but it's neat to have a choice.

I'm not sure what happens when it's time to return the book, because you still only get to have it for three weeks - just like a normal book. Maybe it just doesn't allow you to view the file anymore.

Either way, it's a really cool option and especially great if you don't have time to go to the library...or "liberry", as some people like to say.

(Btw, if you haven't read "Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim", you should download it or go old school and check out the book. It's a hoot!)
