Neptune

There is a new coffee place in Greenwood! It's called Neptune Coffee and it's right across from the Pig N' Whistle.

The space used to house classes for the Greenwood Academy of Hair and I always peered in at the stylists-to-be as they rolled perm rods onto mannequin hair.

Aaron and I went to check out Neptune Coffee last weekend.

It's a bright and airy space, decorated with art on the walls (the pieces there now are large canvasses with colorful impressionistic paintings that are heavy on texture), benches that I think used to be church pews and chairs that look like old wooden classroom chairs. The front of the shop has large windows, which lets in lots of natural light. There are also stools and a high tables that line the window, which is good for people watching. (It reminds me of Herkimer's coffee on Phinney - and just as I finished saying that to Aaron, I heard another patron say the same thing to his friend.)

I had a drip coffee with cream and Aaron had a chai tea. I thought the coffee was tasty and Aaron liked his tea, as well. They have Stumptown coffee, pastries and the day we went, they didn't have sandwiches, but told us that they soon would. Neptune also has WiFi, if you want to bring in your laptop. (So you can sip an Americano and catch up on your favorite celeb blogs...or Google news...but come on, you know you want to see how Lindsey's doing back in rehab just as much as I do.)

Our barista was very friendly and quick and the owner asked us how our drinks were and thanked us for coming in, which I thought was nice.

I think Neptune Coffee is a welcome addition to the hood, and I'll definitely be going back for some more coffee and maybe even a sandwich.
