Everything Must Go!

Thriftko is going out of business, folks!

Why? Well, it's all about urban redevelopment it seems. They had a sign in their window to clarify this point:

I've never been consistently successful at finding good deals at Thriftko (I'm a Goodwill girl, myself, as you know), but I have friends (like my hairstylist) that have found the motherload of cool vintage furniture at this fine establishment. So, like with most thrift stores, it's all about persistance.

If you're the thrifting type, you should stop by Thriftko. Everything is 30 - 75% off right now. I actually hit the jackpot last night and found some Gloria Vanderbilt Giselle style velvet jeans (he's got a gorgeous body and he's wearing velvet pants - does anyone remember that song?) and Aaron found three dress shirts - one of which was a Ben Sherman! Wow!

We got the pants and three shirts for a mere $11 and change.

It can be sad when old skool businesses are displaced for new development, but I have to admit that there are some good things about Thrifko leaving - people would dump total crap to them as donations, and the crap (like old refrigerators and stained mattresses) would be moved to a broken down dumpster area in the parking lot, which looked awful. So I won't be torn up about that going bye-bye.

But if you can't get enough of Thrifko, don't worry too much. There is another one up north in Shoreline.

Happy thrifting!
