My Dad sent us a belated housewarming check a while back and I deposited it in my bank account for a rainy day. My idea was to use the money for organizational items like bins and a closet system for the office, but Aaron had another idea. He wanted to bid farewell to my old Ikea lamp:
I thought said lamp was fine, but, I have to admit that it did give a harsh light if you didn't angle it away from you. Plus, the exposed cord/light switch was always in the way. So, I agreed to look at new lamps at Lowe's. And low and behold, we found a lovely chrome lamp with a white drum shade. After getting it home and assembled, I wondered why we waited so long to upgrade! I am now in love with the new lamp and the soft, flattering light that it gives.

I love that lamp shade style... it reminds me of the air-filters in old American muscle cars!
Yeah, I can see that - that would be a good project for an industrial designer to make a lamp shade out of an air-filter.
