Who Wants a Turtle Dove, Anyway?

For a different take on Christmas gift giving this year, why not employ the twelve days of Christmas approach? I'm not talking about turtle doves and partridges in a pear tree. No siree Bob. I'm not running a farm over here. I mean, start on December 14th and surprise your honey with one gift. On December 15th, give another gift. You get the idea. Start out small (you're not made of money, right?) and keep it going until you hit the big 2-5, when you give the best gift of all.

What to give? Here's a list for that special lady in your life. (I'll get to the mister tomorrow.)

Dec 14th - Her favorite type of chocolate wrapped up in a gift bag. My favorite is dark chocolate, in case you're wondering.

Dec 15th - A Lipsmacker lipgloss. I like Vanilla and Raspberry. I'm just sayin'...

Dec 16th - A cupcake from Cupcake Royale. I'll take one with pink frosting.

Dec 17th - It's Sunday, so hustle down to the Ballard Sunday Market and buy your sweetie a fresh bouquet of flowers.

Dec 18th - Leather gloves. Warm and stylish.

Dec 19th - A box of pretty notecards. They also carry this brand at Paperzone.

Dec 20th - Fun postage stamps for her thank you cards. (I like the Superhero stamps.)

Dec 21st - A framed picture of the two of you. Awwww.

Dec 22nd - Things are getting stressful the closer Christmas looms - your sugar bear might need something to, uh, take the edge off. Indulge her in a bottle of wine from Trader Joe's. Get one for yourself, too.

Dec 23rd - Breakfast from McDonald's. It's two days before Christmas and last minute shopping is stressful! Everyone deserves to slum it sometimes. I'll have a number 1 with coffee. Thanks.

Dec 24th - A magazine subscription. InStyle, Bust and ReadyMade, are some ideas. The gift that keeps on giving.

Dec 25th - A purse from Laura Bee Designs! This might require a trip to Laura Bee's shop a few weeks beforehand. Ask your honey bunny which one is her favorite and then race back in to buy it when she's not looking. Or, you can just be up front and ask her to design the bag she likes and just go back and buy it later. Either way, your wife or girlfriend will love you forever!
