A Twist Of Lime

I get email updates from Banana Republic, and most recently, they sent me an email about a new online shoe retailer from the Gap Inc called Piperlime. I perused their site and they have a lot of brands that I am familiar with, like Bandolino, Kenneth Cole and Steve Madden. They also list a few brands that I've not heard of, like Boutique 58 and Sudini.

Piperlime offers free shipping both ways and has shoes for men, women and kids. It seems that they are attempting to be in direct competition with Zappo's. I have to say, though, that I like Piperlime's website a lot better than Zappo's. Piperlime's site has a lot of whitespace and as you select a style of shoe to view, the shoes are easy to see and are not so microscopic that you need bifocals to scroll through them. I find Zappo's site to be overwhelming and busy.

That said, I don't do a whole lot of online shoe shopping, but I think I will spend some time surfing around on Piperlime's site, just to get inspiration for shoes to hunt down at brick and mortar stores.
