The Halloween party on Saturday was so fun! Aaron and I moored our yacht at the marina and stepped onshore in our best duds to take part in the festivities. Ok, we didn't actually have a yacht, we just pretended we did...because we were dressed up as the Captain and Tennille!Aaron looked very stately in his captain's hat, yet creepy at the same time, due to his rather realistic 'stache. I had on a polyester knit dress that was a tawny peach shade and also sported some sweet vintage 70s sunglasses. I even had my hairstylist blow my hair out into a curled under wedge style, much like Tennille's do. (I was getting my hair done anyway, so we figured, what the hell?)
Everyone else had great costumes, too! AND, we encountered another Captain who was looking very smoooooth. (I finally got all the smooth Michael McDonald references, thanks to Aaron's Yacht Rock tutorial prior to the party.) There was also a geisha, the scary girl from the Ring, Robert Smith, Sherlock "Homes" (very creative - a gangsta style detective), Jesus, a fairy, a dog, a FEMA agent and a Miss New Orleans (she had on hip waders!), and many other wonderful costumes. Not to mention that we got to hear our friend's band, the Fatigues, perform!
It was a good time and thanks to Daylight Savings, we got an extra hour to sleep in on Sunday and recover from the excitement (read: cheap keg beer) from the party.
