I am in a disgustingly good mood for a Monday. (Except that I have "Manic Monday" stuck in my head. I've always hated that song.) Usually Mondays bring gloom and doom and irriation. Today, however, my happiness is threefold. The first thing that is bringing me way more than $15 worth of joy is my manicure. I decided to bite the bullet and take my boy fingernails into the nail shop down the street for some much needed repair on Saturday. The nail tech was very nice and efficient. Plus, it was oh-so-relaxing! My nails are now a red wine color (so autumnal!) and my cuticles are not ragged and frightening anymore.
The second thing that is making me smile is that we're getting a partial refund from the florist. The flowers at the wedding were beautiful you say? Yes, they were gorgeous, but my maids had to decorate the arch that we used in the ceremony and that was not part of the original deal. So, a refund is in order.
The last thing that I'm happy about was quite unexpected. I renewed my car tabs and was prepared to throw down some serious coin, but without the monorail tax, my tabs cost over fifty percent less than last year. I know, I know, we need a better public transport system in Seattle - I completely agree. But let me enjoy my little windfall of cash for now. Next Monday will probably suck ass as per usual, so any glimmer of glee must be embraced.
