Really?

Do you ever see someone walking down the street and you just want to walk up to them, look them up and down, and say, "Really?" As in, did you really think that outfit was ok to wear out in public? Do you own a mirror? Did you set out to make my eyes bleed today?

I had such a thing occur on Saturday night after the shower. I was standing outside Hazlewood (classy bar, you should check it out) in Ballard with daisymayrobin and some other friends. A woman walked down the street past us, and all conversation stopped so we could gawk.

Sure, you can say that girls are catty, so go "meow" and make a hissing sound with claw motions. I'll wait. But, man, if you had been there, you would have stared, too. This girl was wearing frighteningly tall platform shoes, RED fishnets, a matching red garter belt and other slutty accoutrements. (I'll admit I had a hard time getting past the red fishnets.) We can only hope she was headed to a pimps n' hoes party. (Do people do those anymore?)

Of course, I am not always looking top notch when I run out to get milk at Safeway (Grey sweats with a hole in the crotch? Really?), but at least I wear my undies under my clothes as they were intended. (With the hole in the sweats, the undies really are essential. But I leave the garters at home. They're not very comfy.)
