Liquidation World

I have a co-worker who is a bargain shopper like myself, and she told me I had to check out Liquidation World. She explained that they buy overstock, stuff from stores that are going out of business, and food that is close to its sell-by date. The name alone makes me chuckle. It sounds like something they'd have on the Simpsons or King of the Hill. However, being a cheapskate, I like to leave no stone unturned when it comes to getting a good deal.

I wasn't sure what to expect, but once inside Liquidation World, I was greeted with a variety of wares and colorful clientele. They had everything from decorative birdhouses for $1.99 to Clairol Herbal Essence shampoo for 69 cents. There was also food like cereal and olives, shoes like Clark's sandals (size 7 - too small for this wicked stepsister), furniture and school supplies. It was a "rampasture" as my Mom would say.

After careful consideration, I decided to get some reduced price Rubbermaid food storage containers. (I'm in love with Tupperware.) I got a water bottle for 99 cents and a "Sandwich Keeper" for 89 cents.

As I was checking out, one of the "associates" was complaining that someone had spilled Nair on aisle four. Pew, pew, pew. I made a hasty retreat with my bargains and sped back to Seattle.
