We went to Wild Ginger on Friday with a couple friends. After driving around and around, foolishly thinking we could find street parking downtown, we finally gave up and parked in a garage. (Since we had a gift card for the dinner, I felt slightly better about springing for pay parking.)Once we got seated, we had a view of Benaroya Hall through the large windows. After a brief look at the menu (which I had already perused extensively online), I knew I wanted the chicken satay skewers with the peanut dipping sauce. I also ordered a green bean side dish, which was tasty, but a little too spicy for me. I am a no spice girl. Everyone else ordered a variety of things that I'm not all that into...so I moved onto the drinks menu.
Wild Ginger has a lovely cocktail menu. I tried the Pomatini, the Crystal Cosmo and the Chocolate Martini. The Pomatini was by far the best. The Chocolate Martini was like Yoo-hoo with vodka, as my friend pointed out. And then, at the very same moment, Aaron and I said, "Like watered down Yoo-hoo." That's why we're together...to quote Beastie Boys lyrics. It's all about the Professor Booty - and maybe a satay skewer every now and then.
