Sephora has a contest going on right now to name a new Vincent Longo lipgloss. What could be more perfect, right? The gloss is described as a "shimmering sandy pink". So, I decided to check the names of other lipglosses in their line to see if they have real color names (like Shell Pink), non-color names that sound cool (like my MAC Fetish lipstick or MAC Fiction eyeshadow), women's names (like Stila's lipsticks in Amelia, Darla or Fiona) or men's names (like Delux Beauty's glosses in Norris, Edgar or Gus).
It appears that Vincent has gone with real color names like Coral Cabana and Diamond Rose for his glosses (gag, not my favorite) but chose foxier names for his lipstick line, like Foxina (that's more like it) and Nolita. But whoever came up with the name Love Toast should be fired on the spot. ("Hey, baby, let me share my Love Toast with you." What would that even mean?)
With that in mind, here are my top five candidates for the contest:
1. Pinkie Ring
2. Rococo A Go-Go (disqualified because it is over 12 characters - curses!)
3. ElectroPop
4. Prog Rock (Aaron, get off my list!)
5. Rabbit Pearl
After much indecision, I chose Pinkie Ring. So keep your fingers crossed! And if you enter and win then remember me when you're picking a travel partner for the trip to NYC!
