Wow! It seems like we were gone for a long time! We left for Tahoe on Thursday and returned Sunday. It was a pretty good trip! The Hyatt was very swanky and our room had a view of the pool. The hotel had four restaurants and a casino, but we did venture into town a couple times to look around. We were on the Nevada side of the lake, so it was all indoor smoking and gambling, baby! Except that I'm not a big gambler. I played the nickel slots and quickly lost my dollar and then lost interest. But we did spend some quality time in the casino bar, which we discovered was cheaper than the other hotel bar. Sneaky.
It seemed like almost everyone there was there to ski, but we didn't partake. I didn't want to risk broken limbs, so we stuck to hiking to the lake (ok, we walked through the parking lot and past the cottages down to the shore) and swimming in the pool. The pool was outdoor, but it was heated. There were also two outdoor hot tubs, which felt toasty and warm after the brisk jaunt from the pool to the hot tub!
My only complaints were that the bathroom in our room had fluorescent lights, which made me look like an extra from "Shaun of the Dead". Ew. And the bed was too squishy. I'm a firm bed kind of girl. Also, the air down in Nevada is so dry that my respiratory system and skin shriveled so much that no amount of saline drops or lotion could re-hydrate them. (Like the banana slug, I'm used to the constant 99% humidity in the Pacific Northwest.)
We did get a chance to watch some top notch cable programming like Steven Colbert and John Stewart on Comedy Central and the Top 80 One Hit Wonder countdown on VH1. But is anyone else out there frightened that so many hoochies want to hook up with Flava Flav? I wouldn't want to tap that ass, if you know what I mean. Talk about a train wreck.
Other than that, a good time was had by all and we made it back to Seattle in one piece. I'm actually glad to see the rain and so are my nasal passages.

Welcome back! Glad you had fun! And there's nothing better than really bad TV in a big hotel bed. : )
Thanks! We definitely had fun, but it's always good to come home to Seattle!
