When it comes to garden gnomes, you either love them or they remind you of creepy old men lurking in your yard. I fall into the former group. I think garden gnomes are cute and kitschy and they make me smile when I see them standing among my flowers.
I currently have five garden gnomes. My friend Carol got me three matching gnomes as a gift for being her bridesmaid (it was sort of a joke gift, but I really like them). They reside in the garden by my front door in various poses. One is lying down, one is standing and one is sitting. I have another gnome by the back door. He's ceramic and he's holding a watering can. The last gnome is plastic, and he's on a side table on our deck and he is holding a tiny guitar. He was a gag gift that Aaron got for his birthday last year, but Aaron's not really into gnomes, so I count him as mine.
There are lots of sites where you can buy gnomes, but they're a little on the spendy side. I figure you must have money to burn if you're going to spend $249 on a gnome! However, I would like to visit the Gnome Reserve and Wild Flower Garden in Devon, Englad sometime. They loan you gnome hats while you're there - think of the photo opportunities!
If you find regular gnomes frightening, I recommend that you stay away from this site. It has gnomes that look like George Bush. They're scarier than Chuckie - mark my words.
I just hope none of my gnomes every gets kidnapped. I wouldn't want one of them to be forced to endure the trauma this gnome faced with Paris Hilton.
